The Samoeng loop
Rented a scooter, 250 baht and a helmet that mostly fit. Rode the Samoeng loop, the hundred kilometers of mountain road everybody in the guesthouse talks about. Curves all morning, ridges going blue toward Burma, a coffee at the top looking at all of it. Went slow, the road wants your whole head. Back in the old city by three with sore hands. Slept nine hours.
