Privacy Policy

Travel Journals (the app, and the site at traveljournals.app) is operated by TravelingSober LLC, a Florida, USA company. This policy describes what we collect and how it is used. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, nothing is public unless you publish it, and we do not sell data or run ads or third-party tracking.

What we collect

Account: your name, email address, username, date of birth (to verify you are 18 or older), and a hashed password. Your account is a TravelingSober LLC account, stored once and usable across our products.
Journals: the entries you write, photos you attach, entry dates, and the locations you pick for journals and entries.
Author profile: the author photo, bio, and social links you choose to add, used only on your published pages.
Sign-in records: login tokens and a device label, so you can stay signed in and sign out everywhere when you change your password.

How it is used

To run the product: store your journals, sync them to your devices, and render the published site.
To email you sign-up and password-reset codes. We send no marketing email.
Publishing is the only thing that makes data public. A journal you publish (its text, photos, locations, and your author name, photo, bio, and social links) appears publicly on traveljournals.app until you unpublish or delete it. Everything else stays private to your account.

Services we rely on

We use a small number of processors to operate the product: web and site hosting infrastructure (including Cloudflare), our email delivery provider (for the code emails above), and Google Places, which powers location search. When you search for a place, the text you type in the location field is sent to Google through our servers to return suggestions. We do not sell personal data, and no advertising or analytics trackers run in the app or on the site.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account); deletion is permanent and removes your account and content (journals, photos, and profile) from every TravelingSober LLC product. Published pages disappear from the site when it next rebuilds. Copies cached by search engines or archives outside our control may persist for a time after that.

Your rights

You can read and edit your data in the app, and delete it as described above. Depending on where you live you may have additional legal rights (such as access or portability requests). Email admin@travelingsober.com and we will help. We answer from our parent company's domain, travelingsober.com.

Children

Travel Journals is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has an account, email admin@travelingsober.com and we will remove it.
